A NEW policy to tackle broadband issues in rural areas is set to be formulated by a borough council.
Councillors met to discuss an update on Fibre Broadband services, its availability, and future proposals for further rollout in the Ribble Valley, in the first economic development meeting on Thursday.
Cllr Rosemary Elms, who lives in Slaidburn, said only two residents had Lancashire Superfast Broadband installed in their homes.
Cllr Ken Hind, the leader of the council, noted the issues surrounding the availability of broadband in rural areas and asked if a map could be drawn up to see where the super fast broadband black spots are to allow the council to work to try to tackle the issue.
The next economic development meeting will take place on November 15.
