A COUNCILLOR will look to launch a driving safety campaign after he witnessed a potential crash at a junction.

Cllr Neil McGowan captured the moment a Kia cee'd came within inches of smashing into a Mini at junction Higher Reedley Road in Nelson on his dash cam.

The footage showed the car overtake Cllr McGowan and a white Ford Focus by driving on the wrong side of the road and goes through the red light.

The car swerved to avoid the Mini, which crossed from the left side, and continued up the road.

Cllr McGowan said he was concerned with the driving in Nelson and Brierfield.
