BRADLEY Dack is looking to kickstart his Rovers career after overcoming two separate hamstring strains in the opening month of the season.

Dack limped out of the opening day defeat at Southend United on August 5, just as he did against Bradford City two weeks later.

But the 23-year-old has since made three appearances off the bench for Rovers in their last three matches within the space of a week, including 60 minutes in Saturday’s defeat to AFC Wimbledon as a replacement for Craig Conway.

Dack will now be looking to push his claims for a starting spot at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday as Rovers look to return to winning ways, and his cause could be helped by Conway (hip) and Rekeem Harper (hip flexor) both struggling for full fitness.

“It has been a little bit frustrating with the niggles picked up with my hamstring,” he told the club’s official website.

“But hopefully the problem is now all sorted, I’ve had a couple of weeks rehab on it and I’m feeling ready to start.

“I had a full pre-season under my belt and didn’t pick up anything and then you go into the first game and you just feel it a little bit.

“I managed to get back but then I felt it again so it was frustrating. But now the problem is all sorted, so hopefully I can kick on now.”

Assessing Rovers' start to the campaign, he added: “We all think we should be doing better. In an ideal world we would have won seven out of seven but it is a tough league.

“We have to adjust quickly, and there's 39 games left and we have got to make sure we get promoted.”
