PEOPLE have been asked to keep their eyes healthy as part of a national health week.

NHS England (Lancashire & South Cumbria) has worked with partner organisations across the region to support National Eye Health Week, which takes place between September 18 and September 24.

Sight is the sense people fear losing the most, yet health chiefs said that many don’t know how to look after their eyes.

The week, run by the charity Vision Matters, aims to raise awareness of the importance of having a regular sight test and inspire people to make healthier lifestyle choices that benefit their eye health.

A number of events will be held in Lancashire to mark the week.

Next Wednesday (September 20), The Falls Prevention Service will be on hand between 10-2pm at Colne Market, Colne Market Hall, Market Street, to give advice and guidance and answer questions people may have.
