A SHOW at a theatre has been cancelled due to its performers being stuck in the Caribbean following the recent hurricane.

The 'Twist and Shout' event at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Aqueduct Road, Blackburn had been due to take place on Sunday (September 17).

But the acts have been unable to get flights back to the UK in time for the show due to the hurricane.

The hurricane has caused widespread destruction across the Caribbean, reducing buildings to rubble and leaving dozens of people dead.

The show has now been rescheduled for Sunday, January 14 next year, with all tickets purchased valid for the new date.

The theatre apologised for having to cancel the show on Facebook.

They said: "The cast and crew are very sorry that they have had to postpone the show but look forward to welcoming you in January to Twist and Shout Again!"
