A MAN was knocked over by a car and assaulted by four men in Blackburn.
The 31-year-old was involved in an argument with four other men inside a black Vauxhall Corsa in North Road on Wednesday at 11.30pm.
A police spokesman said the car drove at the man and knocked him down before the group got out and assaulted him.
The man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and was treated for a broken nose and a fractured hand.
Each of the four attackers were described as Asian.
Police are keen to speak to a passer-by who stopped to offer the victim help following the assault.
Detective constable Rubina Akoo said: "This was a nasty assault which resulted in some significant injuries.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who has any information to come forward and contact us.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 1102 of September 14.
