A KARATE instructor is preparing for his attempt to break 30 wooden boards in a minute for charity.
Andrew Allwood, 43, runs Tower Shukokai karate club at Darwen Vale High School on Friday nights and Turton and Edgworth Primary School on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings.
He will be raising money for Derian House Children's Hospice, Chorley, which is supported by Turton and Edgworth school where Andrew's assistant instructor Martin Skipper, 43, of Roman Road is a governor.
Andrew, from Bromley Cross, said: "The whole of the club can be involved in raising money although it's just me involved in breaking the boards."
The attempt will be made at Turton and Edgworth School, Bolton Road, on July 23 at 8pm.
