A WOMAN who hadn't seen her ex-partner for two years was shocked when he turned up on her doorstep.

Blackburn magistrates heard Garry Paul Sculpher was hammering on her door for about 10 minutes before she opened the door and told him to go away.

Sculpher, 30, of Park Lee Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order in favour of Paula Hughes.

He was jailed for 18 weeks.

Alex Mann, prosecuting, said an indefinite restraining order had been imposed in 2012 following an assault on Miss Hughes.

"She hadn't heard from him for about two years and was shocked when he came knocking on her door," said Mrs Mann. "She said it had taken her a long time for her to feel safe again after the assault and his visit had shaken her."
