FIREFIGHTERS were called after a blaze in a tumble dryer.

Clothing had set alight during the incident in Fielding Crescent, Blackburn at around 8.30pm.

A fire spokesman said it was not caused by a fault in the dryer.

Two fire engines were at the scene for around 30 minutes.

The spokesman said: "They used one hosereel to put out two or three garments of clothing in the dryer that had caught fire.

"It was not a dryer fault. It was due to some sort of oils or fats on the clothing and the combination of heat."

He was unable to say whether anyone was injured.
