TWO best friends have successfully completed their eighth challenge in their year long fundraising mission.
Josh Hindle, 25, and David Smith, 31, are completing a challenge every month in 2017 to raise money for Pendleside Hospice.
The challenges are randomly selected from public suggestions and on Saturday they completed August’s mission, a half marathon while wearing 10kg weighted vests.
The friends set off at 10am from the Pendleside Hospice store in Colne Road and ran through Burnley town centre and also took in the sights at the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Barrowford Locks and the Hippodrome theatre before finishing at the Crown Hotel Pub in Albert Road, Colne.
Mr Hindle, from Barrowford, and Mr Smith, from Nelson, said they were glad to finish the ‘tough’ challenge.
They said on their fundraising Facebook page: “We would like to thank everyone for all their support.
“Last night and today we have experienced more pain than ever before this year.”
So far the pair have raised more than £4,500 and are keen to push on to reach their £10,000 target by the end of the year.
