A MAN released from custody in Liverpool didn't manage to get home to Bacup before re-offending.
Blackburn magistrates heard Simon Richard Vincent found himself in Blackburn at around midnight with no means of getting home other than walking.
And two hours later he was seen smashing the window of a parked car.
Vincent, 24, of Queen Street, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was sentenced to four weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to complete 15 rehabilitation activity days.
Neil Howard, defending, said a long-standing cocaine addiction was behind his client's offending.
"Since this incident he was moved away from Bacup to get away from negative influences.
"He is actively seeking help and for the first time in many years he is free of drugs," said Mr Howard. "His family are surprised and proud of the progress he is making."
