TWO friends who have been inseparable since the start of secondary school have ambitions to go into business together.

Harry Travis, 19, and Daniel Swift, 19, first became friends in year seven at Alder Grange School in Rawtenstall.

Now they will be heading off to university together.

The pair will be in the same halls of residence at Liverpool John Moore’s University.

The teens, who are from Rawtenstall, will study business studies and there’s every chance they’ll set up in business together in the future.

Daniel said: “We have always been friends and we have worked together on lots of different projects in the past like organising events. We also have had a business selling T-shirts."

Daniel gained a Distinction in Sport, while Harry notched up a Double Distinction in IT and a Distinction in Sport from Alder Grange’s sixth form ag6.

Harry paid tribute to the school’s teachers. He said: “We’ve been best mates since we joined Alder Grange in year seven and have really enjoyed it here.

“But I don’t think I would have got the results I have without the help and support of the teachers here. They have been absolutely brilliant.”

Daniel said: “They have always been there for us when we have need support and encouragement and they always believed in us.”

Another student, Mitchell Hargreaves, is the first in his family to go to university.

The 19-year-old from Crawshawbooth was doing an apprenticeship in vehicle body work but switched to A-levels.

After achieving two As and a B he will now study law at The University of Liverpool. He said: “I’m so pleased with my results. I couldn’t believe it when I found out as I’d surpassed what I needed to get on the course.”
