A DISNEY-themed proms night will close a popular music festival next month.

One of the key live music events in the area is the famous Last Night of the Ribble Valley Proms.

The year's Last Night of the Ribble Valley Proms will take place at Christ Church, Chatburn on September 15.

The programme will bring the magic of Disney to the evening with music and song from many of the films as well as video tributes to the pioneering creations of Walt Disney.

Award-winning Oldham Band will be joined by professional soprano artist Elizabeth Phillips plus a special appearance by The Performance Academy.

Chairman of the Ribble Valley Music Festival, Clive Greenwood, said: “The Ribble Valley Music Festival has gone from strength to strength during its first three years.

"It has brought a lot of people together to enjoy a wide range of live music.

"This success has encouraged the creation of the Ribble Valley’s very own Summer Proms within the festival programme.

"Having the Proms is unique in the Ribble Valley and deserves recognition.

"There is a wide range of music including opera, classical and other music.

"It all takes place in the beautiful villages throughout the valley during the summer months – a key attraction for anyone from outside the area."

Tickets are £10 and include complimentary home-made cake, tea, coffee and wine.
