PROFESSIONALS got a taste of a community project to boost young people’s mental health and physical wellbeing recently.
The ecotherapy based project is aimed at young people aged between 13 and 25 years, who live in the areas in and around Chorley, Preston and East Lancashire.
And health professionals at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust took part in a Myplace taster session to find out more about it.
Participants are given the opportunity to actively participate in developing and improving their own greenspaces.
This can also have a positive impact on their health and wellbeing by enabling them to develop new skills, increase mental and physical fitness and grow in self-confidence.
The taster session for staff took place at Lomeshaye Nature Reserve in Nelson.
The aim of the taster session was for health professionals to experience first-hand the benefits of Myplace before recommending the project to the young people they work with.
