A £1.6MILLION supported housing development to build 11 apartments has begun.
The mayor of Pendle, Cllr David Whalley, oversaw the start of the work in Argyle Street, Colne.
Due to be finished next spring, the three-storey site will provide specially-designed homes for adults with a range of needs.
New residents will receive a tenancy agreement and there is no limit to how long people can live there.
The development is being built by Making Space, a health charity, accommodation developer Homelife and Inclusion Housing, and it will enable adults to live as independently as possible, with support from an on-site care team.
Cllr Whalley said: “Making Space look after people with the utmost respect. I know they will do a good job here.”
