A COMMUNITY group have set themselves a challenge to tackle all three of Pendle's three peaks in a day.

Pendle Hill, Weets Hill and Boulsworth Hill will be hiked by Manawar Bashah and 26 other people in a single day on August 13.

The total distance travelled will be 15 miles - Pendle Hill is 5.6 miles, Weets will be 4.6 miles and Boulsworth will be 4.3 miles.

The charity walk has raised more than £500 for two chosen charities, Pendleside Hospice and Papyrus.

Manawar Bashah, 48, St Mary Street in Nelson has organised the event.

He said: "I regularly take part in charity walks , at least one a year.

"I decided to set up the challenge because a lot of people don't know that the three hills of Pendle even exist.

" The group and I have been going on walks in the parks and the last walk we did we did two of the hills at one day, but we need to do three on Sunday.

"We have raised over half the amount of our £1,000 fundraising target."
