THOUSANDS of children and their families are set to take part in a national Play Day in a borough next week.
Play Day is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives as well as a celebration of children’s right to play,
Burnley's Scott Park, Fern Road, will become a hub for children aged up to 14 to take part in hundreds of community events led by the group.
Youngsters will also be able to practice their circus skills with stilts, juggling and ride a unicycle.
Burnley Leisure events officer Michelle Grimes said: “This free event unites local communities and we are pleased to see different organisations coming together to help us deliver a day of wonderful play for young people."
The adventure day will take place on Wednesday August 2 from 1pm to 2pm.
