TWO sisters have been rescued by police investigating alleged human trafficking.
Police said the officers stopped a Ford Focus travelling in Rishton at around 4.40am yesterday and found the 21-year-old woman and the 17-year-old girl on board.
The sisters, who are both Romanian, have been spoken to by specialist officers and will now be safeguarded before being returned to their families. The 17-year-old is currently in the care of social services.
As a result of the discovery a man was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking.
*** Gheorghita Moga, 26, of Railway Road, Darwen, has been charged with human trafficking, controlling prostitution for gain and inciting the sexual exploitation of a child. He was due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court this morning.
