BURNLEY FC in the Community is delighted that the charity will soon be operating the full portfolio of sports facilities at Nelson and Colne College.

The move will see Burnley FC in the Community oversee the operation of the College’s full-size external 3G pitch and indoor six-court sports hall.

The facilities will be for community sports groups and grassroots clubs to enjoy and will be managed by Burnley FC in the Community weekdays (6-10pm) and throughout weekends.

This new development is an expansion of a thriving relationship. Now collaboratively working together for more than two years, both Burnley FC in the Community and Nelson and Colne College also jointly deliver the Burnley FC Shadow Youth Team provision that will, from September, see more than 100 (both male and female) students embark on the two-year course that combines academies studies with practical footballing experience.

Matt Parish, Director of Education & Inclusion at Burnley FC in the Community said: “We are delighted to be enhancing our relationship with Nelson and Colne College.

“We are two very like-minded organisations; we share a ‘can-do’ attitude, a mutual trust and a strong desire to drive forward opportunities for young people in our local area.

“I’d like to thank the team at Nelson and Colne College for helping make this happen.”

Burnley FC in the Community is now taking enquiries and bookings for the sports facilities at Nelson and Colne College and welcome interest from local sports group and grassroots clubs. For more information, please contact bookings@burnleyfc.com or call 01282 704716.
