BAKERY staff had to be evacuated after a fire.
Firefighters were called to Clayton Park Bakery Ltd after a control panel to one of the industrial ovens caught fire.
Three fire engines were called to the Clayton Business Park in Petre Road, Clayton-le-Moors at 7.15pm on Monday.
Barry Thomas, the bakery's managing director, said all staff members were promptly evacuated and no one was injured.
He said: "Fire crews attended and were able to extinguish the fire, which was contained to the oven.
"A clean up operation was undertaken overnight and production has continued as normal.
"We’d like to reassure our customers that there should be no interruption to production or our deliveries."
