A GROUSE moor in Darwen has been put up for sale for £250,000.
The 1,495 acre Lords Hall Moor has 'considerable scope for development' for grouse according to estate agents Savills.
They said 235 acres is freehold owned land with the balance being freehold sporting rights.
The moor has been owned by vendors since 2006 as part of wider estate ownerships in the North West.
A spokesman for Savills said: "This has meant that the Moor has not in recent years, been the focus of attention that it was under the previous owner and hence grouse numbers have not been optimised.
"It has not been fully keepered and been only lightly shot, but the selling agents are of the opinion that the moor has good scope for improvement."
"The habitat is a mix of heather stands, which is of high quality for grouse production.
"Effective and proactive keepering will undoubtedly help achieve the moor's full potential."
