EAST Lancashire Apprentice star Jessica Cunningham has been hired to design a vibrant summer fashion range.

The former Blackburn student, who made it into the final five of BBC contest The Apprentice, will been commissioned to create 12 pieces for occasion-wear brand Little Black Dress.

The creation of Jess for Little Black Dress has been described as 'a pioneering move to bring fast fashion to Little Black Dress’s premium range – with each capsule expected to refresh every three weeks'.

The collection features jumpsuits, two-piece outfits as well as dresses.

Ms Cunningham, a mother-of-three who has lived in Colne and Burnley, said: “This capsule is bursting with summer vibes.

“It’s perfect for Saturday nights, or for summer parties and festivals.”

The exclusive commissioning for Little Black Dress has been backed by shareholder and TV personality Alesha Dixon, along with chief executive Mark Evans and directors David Walter and Ian Langley.

Ms Dixon said: “Jess will bring her infectious passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to LBD and we’re excited to be working together.

“The launch ‘luxe for less’ range is something that our customers have been asking for - special dresses for those everyday special nights out, but at a price that won’t break the bank.

“All of the range will be beautifully wrapped and boxed to create that premium experience, and we’ll be introducing new styles every three weeks - finding something different, unique and celeb inspired has just got easier.”

Claude Littner, who was a judge on The Apprentice, said: “Jessica is high-energy, high-spirited and has a keen eye for fashion. It’s no wonder she has found her niche in the market. Jessica made her mark as a stand out candidate on The Apprentice.

“Her new venture looks like a smart move and should resonate with young women everywhere.”
