FIVE people have been arrested in relation to a recent disorder incident in Blackburn.

Raids took place at addresses on Whalley New Road and Chorlton Gardens, Blackburn, resulting in two men and two teenagers being detained and one man being held on remand.

Police were called to an incident on Saturday, June 24 to the report of a large group of people fighting on Whalley New Road.

Around 20 to 30 people were thought to have been involved with some of them in possession of weapons including baseball bats and bricks.

A 32-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his abdomen and several people sustained injuries including women and children.

A 20-year-old man was charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to the stabbing. He is currently on remand.

Two men aged 42 and 46, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl from Blackburn were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They have since been released on bail.

Officers are asking anyone with information or any footage of the incident to come forward.
