POLICE who went to execute an arrest warrant for a 34-year-old Bacup man saw him at the attic window before he climbed onto the roof.
Blackburn magistrates heard Michael David Sparks shouted at the officers it would save time if they brought in a negotiator straight away.
He then proceeded to bombard the officers with roof tiles.
Sparks, 34, of Inkerman Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to affray and criminal damage.
He was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced.
Richard Prew, defending, said Sparks was in breach of a suspended prison sentence and was due to be sentenced for possessing a bladed instrument.
"When he appears at Burnley magistrates it is highly likely the suspended sentence will be activated," said Mr Prew. "He understands that in the circumstances it may be better for him to start serving his sentence now."
