SEAN Dyche looks set to stay at Burnley with reports that Crystal Palace have offered Frank de Boer the chance to replace Sam Allardyce.

The Eagles have been searching for a successor to Allardyce for a month but now look to have settled on former Ajax and Inter Milan chief de Boer, according to national media reports in England and Holland.

It was understood that Mauricio Pellegrino, who impressed with Alaves in La Liga last season, was initially the preferred candidate to take the reins at Selhurst Park, but Southampton's interest in the Argentine to replace Claude Puel had complicated matters.

With the Saints now appearing to be leading the race for Pellegrino, it looks like Palace will turn to the former Holland international de Boer.

While Dyche had his fans in the Palace boardroom Pellegrino and de Boer were always the more likely candidates to be offered the job, and the Clarets chief has been pressing ahead with recruitment plans at Turf Moor for next season since returning from holiday.
