AN antiques expert has donated thousands of pounds to a Lancashire-based charity after he presented a BBC afternoon show.

Danny Sebastian fronted Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is for the channel earlier this month which saw him pitted against other experts to uncover bargains that they then re-soled at auction.

The 51-year-old finished with £2,512.91 and decided to donate it to Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 20 Years Anniversary Appeal.

The dad-of-three said: “I’m a regular expert on Bargain Hunt and also hosted a documentary for the BBC about what I do for a living.

“After that they called me up and asked me to present this show which was great.

“We filmed it all across the country and in France between May and September last year.

“I chose Rosemere because I have had people in my life suffer from cancer and I wanted the money to help a Lancashire-based charity.”

Mr Sebastian will be back on TV in September with Flog It’s Paul Martin in a new show called Street Auction.

The charity’s appeal launched in March to mark the 20th anniversary of the opening of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust’s regional specialist cancer treatment centre, the Rosemere Cancer Centre, in Preston.

The appeal is also funding a state-of-the-art research centre to give more patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.

Head of fundraising Dan Hill said: “This is a fantastic donation from a really enjoyable show.

“We are so pleased to have been given such a terrific amount.”
