WEST END star Ben Forster will play Buddy the Elf when the much-anticipated Elf: the Musical comes to the Lowry, Salford Quays, this Christmas.

Ben will reprise the role he originated in the UK première of the show in 2014 and continued to perform throughout a record-breaking 2015 Christmas run in the West End.

Based on the hit 2003 movie starring Will Ferrell, Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole.

Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City.

Ben is currently starring in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre in London. The winner of the ITV show Superstar, he has also performed in the Rocky Horror Show and Evita.

Other confirmed cast members for the Lowry include Joe McGann as Walter and Jessica Martin as Emily Hobbs, roles they both performed during the London run.

Elf: the Musical is at the Lowry, Salford Quays from Friday, November 24 to Sunday, January 14. Tickets are now available from 0843 208 6005 or www.thelowry.com
