IT'S not something you see every day in the heart of town.
Traffic and pedestrians have been banned along the Broadway in Accrington, in favour of a display of one man and his dog - with a difference.
Even shopping came to a standstill as farmer Bill Heslop, from Baxenden, put on a show, with his faithful sheepdog Zak.
Together they exhibited the art of rounding up a group of six ducks, on the white lines Tarmac right in the centre of town.
The show was obviously a big attraction for the crowds, as mums and dads with prams and young children stopped to enjoy the spectacle.
And it looks from the photograph, taken by the Telegraph photographers in the summer of 1988, that Zak has the waterfowl exactly where he wants them, as Bill stand close by, with his staff.
This may have been part of a gala or town centre activity day, with other attractions and events taking place during the local holiday week.
You can see in the background a balloon seller and what appears to be a decorated lorry just appearing along Blackburn Road.
