VISITS from the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny and Santa Claus cost parents in East Lancashire more than £2,000 per child, new research shows.
A visit from the Tooth Fairy costs parents £5 per visit, totalling a £100 per child for around 20 teeth, according to TopCashback.co.uk.
The website said parents are spending £2,470 per child because they think these characters are an important part of childhood and they want to create memories for their children.
On average parents spend £27 on Easter and £190 per child at Christmas. However, nearly a quarter of parents feel under pressure to spend money.
Natasha Rachel Smith, from TopCashback.co.uk, said: “If parents do want to give their children gifts, it is a good opportunity to teach them the value of money and saving, encouraging them to keep a little for their piggy bank.”
