FOUR more arrests have been made as part of an ongoing crackdown on the drugs trade in Chorley.

Three further people have been quizzed about their possible involvement in suspected cocaine and cannabis dealing in the town.

Police swooped on two more undisclosed addresses in the town earlier today.

Three men aged 30, 44 and 44 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs under Operation Hawk.

And a 46-year-old woman was held on the same offence, and possession of a Class B or C drug as a result of the raids. All are from Chorley and are currently in custody.

Police say three more Chorley suspects - two men aged 30 and 25, and a 50-year-old woman - are said to have been voluntarily interviewed by officers on suspicion of drugs offences.

Investigators seized a golf ball sized package of what is thought to be hard drugs, cannabis bush, some white powder which is suspected to be cocaine, several mobile phones and £150 in cash.

Two others - a 40-year-old woman and 25-year-old man - were arrested in Chorley on Wednesday.

Chief Insp Mike Adamson, of Chorley Police, said, "We are really happy with the results we have had over the last couple of days with the operation.

"We know it has had a disruptive impact on those involved in this sort of activity in Chorley and feedback from the local community has been really positive."
