BURNLEY FC fans have been urged to wear their beloved clarets shirts and raise money for charity.

The club’s star winger, Scott Arfield, joined mascot Bertie Bee to launch ‘Wear Your Shirt Day’, to raise funds for Burnley FC in the Community.

Businesses, schools and organisations have been encouraged to donate £1 to the non-profit group in exchange to wear their football kits tomorrow.

The campaign was launched by Oak Furniture Land, the club’s shirt sponsor at their Burnley store in Prestige Retail Park.

The initiative is also raising awareness of the charity’s Community Day, an annual celebration to support charities in East Lancashire on Sunday, April 23.

Money raised on the day will be shared equally between Pendleside Hospice and Burnley FC in the Community.

Arfield said: “When you sign for this club you get a feel for it and when you’re walking around in the town speaking to particular people you know that the club means so much, so to give something back is fantastic for us.”
