FORMER Blackburn Rovers star Robbie Savage has spoken about a 'credible' threat made against him during his time at the club.
He made the comments when recording his weekly Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy podcast for BBC Radio Five Live.
Savage, who spent three years at Ewood Park from 2005, recalled how the police came to his house to tell him about the threat.
He said the officers advised him that it was ‘credible’ and that he should pack up and go and stay with his parents over night with his family.
He said: “The officers said an informant had walked into the police station we are led to believe that you and your family are under threat tonight.
“So we got our stuff, packed the car, and went to my parents.
“The police officers sat in the house all night and luckily nothing happened.”
Savage, who was signed by manager Mark Hughes, did not say when the threat was made.
He also said he was not told the exact nature of the threat against himself and his family.
