DEXYS Midnight Runners frontman Kevin Rowland is to play a special DJ set at Blackburn’s newest music venue.

A hugely influential figure on the music scene for nearly 40 years, Rowland will be taking over the decks at Loop on Northgate on Friday, June 9.

Loop has been opened by Ronnie Brown, who formerly ran the North Bar in Blackburn,

He said: “We are delighted to have got Kevin to come and DJ for us. It promises to be a very special night. I have had people asking me if it really if THE Kevin Rowland - I can assure them that it certainly is.”

These include leading tribute The Smyths on June 10, punk band GBH on June 16 and in July live shows from Who’s Next and Tom Hingley plus a special DJ set from Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard.
