A SECOND bid to develop land off Widow Hill Road for new industrial units has been made to Burnley Council by Metro Metals.
The firm wants to built the structures on a site originally intended as an extension of the Michelin Wheel factory in the 1970s.
A previous planning application to the borough in October 2015 for the units to support the high-tech aircraft industry came to nothing.
The new application stresses the land is classed as semi-derelict and enclosed by security fencing and has always been designated for industrial units.
The latest plan would also see parking spaces created and a landscape zone designated.
The design and access statement submitted to the council proposes to make areas more eco friendly with stone slabs to create habitats for burrowing creatures, a pond suitable for newts, planting including shrubs and ground cover for nesting birds and insects.
