OVER the weekend, our readers enjoyed the sunny skies - whether they went out for walks or catching some rays when watching the football.
But don't expect this to be the start of our summer as Met Office officials are warning the weather could change with temperature plummet to at least 10C this week.
There were highs across England of 25.5C (77.9F) on Sunday set a new record for 2017, comfortably eclipsing the 22.1C recorded last month.
Greg Dewhurst, senior forecaster with the Met Office, said: "Sunday was the hottest day of the year so far, and in fact several places recorded highs of at least 25C - in Lincolnshire, St James's Park in London, Kew Gardens and Heathrow, for example.
"But this week will feel much more like normal for the time of year.
"We are looking at temperatures of around 14C - that's 10C lower than on Sunday.
"There will be some cooler west to north-westerly winds, which will also help bring the temperature down."
And he said early signs showed more of the same for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Mr Dewhurst said: "It looks like there will be a mixture of showers and some sunny spells over the weekend.
"In the sun it won't be too bad, but it will generally feel much cooler than the weekend many of us have just had."
