BUDDING singers have a chance to reach for stardom as the X Factor open auditions roll into town next week.

The hit ITV show is looking for the next big breakout music talent and will be setting up camp at The Mall in Blackburn.

The production team is looking for groups and solo singers aged 16 and above to turn up on Thursday, April 13, and prove they should be performing in front of Simon Cowell and his judging panel.

East Lancashire has had previous success with the talent show as Diana Vickers reached the semi final in 2008.

X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary said: "2016 was a fantastic year for the show and now we are kick starting the auditions for 2017.

"We found some incredible talent and some amazing voices last year and now it could be your turn.

"Just one audition could change your life so if you think you’ve got what it takes then why don’t you apply?"

Last year's winner, Matt Terry, a former waiter from Kent, beat Saara Aalto in an intense final which was watched by millions across the UK.

Loraine Jones, general manager at The Mall Blackburn, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming The X Factor to The Mall.

"If you think you have what it takes to wow the judges come down and sing your heart out."

The first auditions will be taken around 10am but people are advised to start queuing from 9am.

The last audition will be heard around 5.30pm when the store closes.
