POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was hit by a car in Bacup last week.
The incident happened at around 6am on Thursday at the Glen Street junction with Lee Road, just off Newchurch Road and involved a grey Vauxhall Zafira and a 66-year-old woman.

The woman was left with head injuries. She remains in hospital.
Road policing officer PC David Todhunter said: “We are trying to piece together exactly what caused this collision to happen and so we need anyone who may have seen anything to speak to us.”
