A 32-YEAR-OLD man assaulted a neighbour when she complained about his dogs urinating outside her home.
Blackburn magistrates heard Andrew John Cowburn suffered some instant justice when the neighbour's son came out and sprang to his mum's defence.
Cowburn, of Parker Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to assaulting Cleo Embley.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
The conditions of bail include residence at an address in Great Harwood and not to have any contact with the victim.
The court heard Mrs Embley came out of her house and remonstrated with Cowburn about his dogs. He slapped her and then punched her.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client had been drinking and took exception to comments that he wasn't looking after his dogs properly.
"She was complaining about his dogs urinating near her door but he couldn't understand why," said Mr Taylor.
"He accepts that he reacted badly and lashed out. He quickly became the victim when her son came out and set about him.
"He has several injuries including a bite to his ear."
