BOWLING fans have been left celebrating a strike as Blackburn’s only alley is set to reopen on Monday.

Tenpin will be opening its new centre in Peel Leisure Park and has given the Lancashire Telegraph a preview of what will be on offer.

The complex will include 24 bowling lanes, American pool tables, table tennis, gaming machines, free Wi-Fi and a sports bar featuring several large screens and a restaurant.

Fans of the sport were left disappointed when the previous Bowlplex alley at the same site closed in June 2015.

The new centre is next to the Vue Cinema and the recently-opened Nando’s and has created around 30 jobs.

General manager Lee Hodson said: “I am very excited about the new Tenpin location in Blackburn.

“We think visitors will love the new layout and look as well as all the extra facilities and offers that Tenpin are well known for and spend some time enjoying some food and drink in the bar too.

“We really think Blackburn will be bowled over.”
