THE family of a dad-of-one diagnosed with lung cancer have been ‘amazed’ at the support they have received as they approach their initial fundraising target.
More than £1,600 has been raised for Andy Shaw, from Haslingden, who has been diagnosed with the disease.
A fundraising group called ‘Andy’s Angels has been set up and held its first meeting last week ahead of holding a charity event on Sunday, May 28.
His sister Nicole Bezer said: “The event is really gathering pace now, we’ve had so many generous donations.
“It’s just amazing, we’re getting support from people we don’t even know, we’re inundated.
“Andy has been feeling a bit better, he’s a bit more upbeat.”
