RAPID progress has been made at a school which has now been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
St Nicholas CE Primary School in Church was judged ‘good’ in all five areas with inspectors praising the ‘strong and determined’ leadership which has seen the school make progress since a previous inspection in 2015 when it was told it ‘requires improvement’.
Jeremy Barnes, lead inspector, said the school provides a good education for its pupils and standards of teaching and behaviour have improved significantly.
He said: “Improvements in the standards of writing throughout the school since the last inspection mean that pupils make good progress and reach expected standards.
Headteacher Vicky Axon said: “The whole school family are very pleased at the outcome of the inspection.
“Pupils and staff alike have worked very hard."
