A CLEAN-UP ambassador is urging townsfolk to join him on his latest litter crusade.
Wayne Dixon, Keep Britain Tidy’s envoy for its Great British Spring Clean campaign, will be at St Barnabas Neighbourhood Centre in Blackburn today to share his passion.
With his Inuit dog Koda, the 45-year-old from Blackburn is aiming to tour Britain’s coast, hosting litter picks along the way.
His latest stint in the 1,200 mile mission took him from Formby to Holyhead, during which he was informed he has been nominated for Point of Light award.
In a letter from the Cabinet Office, Mr Dixon learned he had been singled out for inspiring others through his voluntary efforts.
This Sunday he will be leading another litter pick along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, from Cherry Tree to Mill Hill. People are asked to meet on the Tower Road car park and equipment will be provided.
