TWO men from Burnley have been arrested after ‘overtaking erratically’, running red lights and failing to stop for police officers.

A black Audi S3 was first spotted at 7.25pm yesterday in Leeds Road, Nelson, and was eventually stopped on the outskirts of Preston at around 9pm.

Officers said they signalled the vehicle to stop in Broadway when it drove off at speeds more than twice the 30mph speed limit.

The car also ran red lights on Broadway and Manchester Road before being spotted on the M65.

Police said they then put plans in place to stop the Audi before deploying the stinger near to Preston.

A police spokesman said: "The manner of this dangerous driving was clearly putting other road users at serious risk.

"We just wanted to highlight that such dangerous driving putting people’s lives at risk will not be tolerated in Nelson.

"We will use tactics and resources from across Lancashire to tackle such issues."

The two men are being interviewed by police.
