BURNLEY picked up their second away point of the Premier League season at Hull City.

The Clarets began a run of four successive away games in good fashion, earning a share of the spoils against a resurgent Tigers in a game they could have won.

Sean Dyche’s side fell behind with 20 minutes to go when Michael Keane was penalised for handball, with Tom Huddlestone converting from the spot, but Keane lashed home an equaliser minutes later.

Burnley started brightly and George Boyd tested Eldin Jakupovic with a low shot from 18 yards before seeing another shot blocked.

But while the Clarets were finding dangerous positions the final ball was letting them down more often than not.

Hull’s best chances come through Kamil Grosicki, who almost signed for the Clarets in the summer. He lobbed an effort over the bar after a mix-up between Tom Heaton and his central defenders before curling a free-kick narrowly over.

At the other end Robbie Brady fired over from the angle inside the area while Ben Mee’s back post header from a deep Brady free-kick was saved by Jakupovic.

Ten minutes into the second half Brady and Andre Gray almost combined to get the former through on goal before Ashley Barnes fired a low half-volley inches wide from 25 yards.

The Clarets almost had the lead minutes later. Gray latches on to Ashley Westwood’s ball over the top but fired across goal and just wide of the far post.

Hull’s first chance of the second half came from that man Grosicki again, who curled an effort from the left hand edge of the area just wide after being found by Dieumerci Mbokani’s lay off.

The Tigers were turning up the pressure and earned a chance to take the lead from the spot when Keane was penalised for handball from Grosicki’s corner with 20 minutes to go.

Heaton went the right way and got a hand on Huddlestone’s pen, but it squeezed into the corner of the net.

Having conceded the penalty Keane made amends within minutes. Brady’s corner found its way to the centre back at the far post and he chested it down and slammed the ball past Jakupovic.

Having been booked for dissent in the aftermath of the penalty Barnes was dismissed in stoppage time when he was shown a second yellow for a hand across Andrea Ranocchia’s face.
