A PLAN to refurbish Padiham Town Hall and protect it from flooding in the future has been approved.
Members of Burnley Council’s planning committee voted on the proposal on Thursday, January 26, and listed building consent was granted this week.

The application included the reinstatement of building fabric and fittings following the damage and the introduction of flood resilience measures.
Boilers and power equipment will now be relocated from the basement to the first floor and fire protection will be upgraded.
Maple block flooring will also be put down in the dance hall.
Planning officers had recommended that the plan is approved by councillors.
A spokesman for the council, in a document to the committee, said: “The proposed works of re-statement and improvement to provide flood resilience are appropriate.”
