Damien Johnson and David Dunn

TWO names who need no introduction to Rovers fans.

The duo may prove to be the popular choice with supporters - certainly in the short term - given their history with the club.

Dunn, 37, made more than 350 appearances for the club over two spells while Johnson, 38, spent five years of his playing career at Ewood.

Lancashire Telegraph:

The pair are currently overseeing a promising season for a Rovers Under 23 side whose football is pleasing on the eye and look likely to be in charge for the trip to Burton Albion if no permanent appointment has been made by then.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

SACKED by Queens Park Rangers in early November, the Dutchman has been installed as the early favourite with the bookies to take the Ewood hotseat.

QPR were 17th when Hasselbaink left Loftus Road having won 13 of his 47 games in charge, a win percentage of 27.7 per cent.

Steered Burton Albion to the League Two title in 2015.

Kenny Jackett

IT’S more than 20 years since Jackett embarked on his first managerial role with Watford and the Welshman in still one of the most highly rated managers outside the Premier League.

That reputation has been built largely on Jackett guiding and then establishing Millwall in the Championship before the 55-year-old spent three years at Wolves.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Was last in charge at Rovers’ relegation rivals Rotherham where his ill-fated five game spell saw him resign after collecting just a single point.

Nigel Adkins

ANOTHER manager with proven quality in the Football League.

Adkins twice guided Scunthorpe United out of League One into the Championship and kept the Iron up at the second attempt.

The 51-year-old then took Southampton to the Premier League before being sacked.

Had two seasons with Reading and has been out of work since the end of last season when he was sacked by Sheffield United after an 11th place finish in League One.
