On November 28 last year, Khan approached a 16-year-old man in Blackburn town centre and threatened him with a glass bottle before stealing his iPhone.

On December 8, Khan followed a 20-year-old man to an address in Oozehead Lane and threatened him with a firearm, forcing him to hand over an iPhone.

The offence was captured on CCTV, with detectives later finding the weapon was an imitation 'sawn off' shotgun.

Khan was arrested and charged and after pleading guilty last month, sentenced to five years and seven months in prison.

Det Con Andy Lever, of Blackburn CID, said: “Sikander Khan is clearly a dangerous offender who showed reckless disregard for his victims, threatening one with a glass bottle and another with an imitation firearm.

“His victims were targeted for their phones using extreme intimidation which left both men fearing for their safety.

“While no-one was harmed, Khan used the threat of violence to steal the items and we are pleased he has been brought to justice.”
