A JUDGE has delayed the sentencing of a sex offender so she can view CCTV footage of two incidents involving schoolgirl victims.
Matus Vajdik, 24, is awaiting his fate after pleading guilty to two offences of sexual assault on girls aged 13 and 14.
The first incident is alleged to have taken place while the 13-year-old was walking through the subway underneath Centenary Way, between the bus station and Gala Bingo.
And a further offence occurred when the 14-year-old was walking in Lower Tentre and was grabbed around the waist by Vajdik.
But security camera footage of the two incidents was not available at Burnley Crown Court when the attacker appeared in the dock from custody.
Adjourning the case until Monday, Judge Beverley Lunt said: “These are very serious matters and I need to see the CCTV footage before I proceed.”
Remanding Vajdik, of Thurston Street, Burnley, Judge Lunt told him that he should expect a ‘very long prison sentence’ for his behaviour.
The judge also apologised for the delay to the families of two schoolgirl victims, who had attended court for the sentencing hearing.
