AN investigation has been launched after a car was deliberately set on fire in Blackburn.
Officers were called to Whalley New Road at around 11.20pm on Sunday to reports someone had heard glass smashing before two people were seen running away from a silver BMW 335D M Sport, which was on fire.

Nobody was hurt.
DS Bryony Midgley, of Blackburn CID, said: “Luckily nobody was hurt but this incident took place in a residential area and it could have been much worse.
“We would now like to speak to the two men who were seen in the area and would appeal to anybody who knows who they may be to contact us as soon as possible.
“Similarly if anyone has any other information about this incident, we would urge them to get in touch.”
Both men are described as being dressed in black tracksuits with hoods up. One was also wearing bright white trainers.
