“There’s a few other dog businesses there and we’ve already had a lot of interest built up from the online site.

“We’ve had people get in contact with us from all over and we’re hopeful it will be a big success, fingers crossed.

“We were very pleased with how the opening day went, loads of people came down.

The mother-of-one said she chose the site after months of searching for a premises that met her needs in terms of size and finance.

The former policewoman of 14 years purchased the property in October and has spent the time since then preparing her goods.

Some of the most popular dog treats include chicken and cheddar biscuits, birthday cakes and ‘dog beer’, a special drink for animals branded and packaged like regular beer.

Mrs Murphy has two dogs herself, called Millie and Ruby, who inspired the name of the shop.

As well as her love of dogs, Mrs Murphy was also inspired by a trip to America.

She said: “I went to America with a friend and over there they had these sort of luxury dog bakeries on every street.

“Everyone just loves dogs wherever you go. I’m a massive dog lover and this has combined my two biggest passions, dogs and baking.”
